new Lego line for girls

Even toys are not immune from identity issues!
A recent news article headlines from the Los Angeles Times read,  "A new Lego line for girls is offensive, critics say"

Read the article and watch the commercial for Lego. Do you agree with the critics? Give  me your thoughts in at least 50 words. Link here

  1. THis is retarded mr davis. The line is just for girl and like look at brat dolls they dont a have a fatty brat girl doll its not appealing to the eye these are just a bunch of people looking to become famous or sue and get money like come on its just a toy for girls let the girls have fun with it if they want to develop eating dissorders due to a toy thats their own stupidity and then the comment at the end is stupid because legos dont have a story line you build your own thing and make your own story line

  2. I don't see anything personally wrong with this. I mean i don't think they needed to make female lego dolls to avoid being called sexist or for identity issues, but i don't see a big deal with it or how it is offensive. i do agree with danny saying its just a doll and its not telling girls to become skinny or develop an eating disorder, they just designed the doll like that because it is appealing to the eye.

  3. i totally agree with both of you because first i think it is really dumb to find something like that offensive. i mean i can't seem to find the part that makes it offensive. They are not telling you to become skinny or do something about your weight. For crying out loud they are just dolls they are designed just to be played with not to mske you feel bad.

  4. I totally agree First they asked for the product and then complain about details such as the girls being to skinny and it will cause girls to have eating disorders there gunna be like five years old so stop and never the less they complain. About it being only for girls and they asked for a girls colorful toy with a story

  5. Hahaha! The critics and people thinking that are being ridiculous. It seems like they are trying to find something wrong. What about Barbie?? I never heard about that becoming an issue, and she is like a size double zero. I think the Lego girl line is perfectly fine, and people should stop blowing it out of proportion.

  6. I think this article was ok. It gave some good points about girly legos. I think that it depends on one’s personal perception. One may think that they stereotype certain things in society today. One may also think that it’s a great marketing strategy or a so called new look. But to me one must not hinder someone else if they do not like something or see it differently.

  7. I think this is stupid. There are a lot more important issues in the world. How in the world is a lego going to affect a girls whole thinking on life? Focus on something more important! A waste of time and the internet. Stop trying to find stuff wrong with a TOY!

  8. To start off who cares. This is one of the most stupidest complaints I have ever heard. If someone is going to complain about Lego Friends, why hasn't anyone complained about Barbie dolls. Barbie dolls have been around for decades and they receiving complaints, I mean there are new Barbie like every season, STOP BEING SO SENSITIVE! If you have to much time on your hands and you're FEED THE HOMELESS, PLANT A TREE, or ADOPT A CAT do something better than complain about a small piece of plastic.

  9. do people really care about this? i mean i dont think that they should have made them look so different from the normal legos because now they look like bratz which could cause some issues. and also girls (in general) either (like the boys.) liked the gender neutral legos or just wouldnt play with them because they seemed too boyish too action figurey (is that a word? well it is NOW!!)

  10. I don't see anything bad with this. Its pretty normal from what I see in kid sections there different toys for boys and girls they have little figures for boys and barbies for girls. I think its a cute idea and a cute toy. I don't see why they bring eating disorders into it what are they suppose to do make a little figure fat that's dumb. Every doll is slim its just how a doll is made.

  11. this is a rather dumb article. there are more important problems to deal with. this is not offensive at all, they are just toys for little girls to play with. no little girl wants to play with an ugly and fat lego girl. i personally frown upon anyone who found this offensive.

  12. This is pretty rediculous, there are plenty of other toy lines that don't represent fat or ugly people, like Barbie, Bratz and other girl toys. If the fat and ugly people have such a problem with every other toy brand on the market, they should make their own fat and ugly toys.
