Comedy offers many advantages of enriching our lives. As you are already probably aware of, modern science has done extensive research on the health benefits of laughter and humor.
At the same time, comedy is also a very powerful cultural medium. First and foremost, it contributes to our mindset and the lens through which we view and interpret our lived experiences. Further, comedy gives us a familiar venue to critically consider our own intellectual growth and development and that of American society as a whole. Thus, in very substantial and meaningful ways, comedy is often used to clarify cultural norms and values. Most comedy routines, therefore, have a very specific agenda---political, ethical, economic, etc--under the guise of entertainment. Yet, to be sure, this development of comedy is not new to the millennium generation. Thus, this week I want you to watch and evaluate an older comedy routine. main agenda: i didnt really understand it it was funny tho but what i got out of it was just diffrent ways of perciving diffrent tricks such as juggling he was shoing off what he could do but also diffrent ways of looking at it. and diffrent perceptuions get diffrent results like the motorcyle or the apple egg and bowling ball.
ReplyDeleteI liked his performance it was funny yet entertainning but not a crude funny but a accually good funny very impressed and seems hard to do wonder how many times he dropped the bowling ball to learn
I thought e was very funny kinda a dry comedy but he was so dull it made it funny it wasn't the humor completely it was what he said that made it funny to show we don't have to have good joke to make us laugh it can be so simple and regular if one person laughs so will anothEr and the perception of tricks and what impresses us on certain levels
ReplyDeleteI think the main agenda was to make people laugh and be funny but with trying or telling a joke. It was funny, like erica said it was dry humor, but the way to said things while he was juggling made it funny. It was really cool seeing him actually eat the apple while juggling it with a bowling ball and an egg.
ReplyDeletewell i think the main agenda is to try to make people laugh with his actions because nowadays some comedians thinks you have to have sets of jokes before to can make people laugh. i think it was pretty cool when he was eating the apple while he was juggling the bowling ball, the egg and the apple and i also think it was really funny when he ate the egg instead of the apple
ReplyDeleteI thought the act was very entertaining and it was funny. I think the main agenda of the comedian was to entertain the crowd and make them laugh. It was amazing how he could juggle an apple, bowling ball and egg at the same time and still be able to eat the apple...well until the end. I would be afraid I would try to bite down on the bowling ball and break a tooth.

I think his agenda was for the audience to see the different ways you can do something, like when he said he was gonna juggle the red balls while he was holding the orange balls to make the audience think he was gonna juggle both, but he really just juggled the red balls.
ReplyDeletethis guy was pretty funny. Through my observations, this guy's adgenda seemed to be that things in life can be less complicated yet we can still enjoy it. I think this because he didn't use fancy talk or make whitty jokes, he made very simle jokes and had very simple, dry comedy in general.
ReplyDeleteI think the main agenda is like we dont have to do everything in order or how we planed. His performence to me wasn't that funny.He made me have one chuckle about the motercycle joke. His comedian style was dry ,his routine was a little played out,and his deleviary was somewhat wack.
ReplyDeleteI think he was trying to show in his agenda that we don't always in the order that they are. We can do things in ways that would be more fun or easier for us to do. He was really funny and had a very good point. I enjoyed listening to him and what he had to say.
ReplyDeletethe main agenda of the comedian was to show people that there are several different ways to do something. at least thats what i think just because of all the different ways he was juggling, with one ball,2,3 an apple egg and bowling ball, on a motorcycle. it was dry humor which is like the best humor in my opinion
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion he was trying to show that there are many different ways to do something. He was also entertaining by doing some fancy juggling tricks and he said some funny stuff as well. Overall, this was a lot funnier than other comedians i have seen because i prefer his style of comedy over modern comedians.
